“BRAVES PRIDE FRIDAY” student proposal from the Cheyenne-Eagle Butte Junior High Students

Kit Veit’s 8th Grade English class provided Cheyenne-Eagle Butte Administrators (Mr. Jesse Mendoza, Mr. Larry Keller, and Dr. Nadine Eastman) a persuasive presentation on the proposal of the implementation of “Braves Pride Friday.” Braves Pride Friday is an opportunity for Junior High students to earn the right to wear “Braves” colors on Fridays. To earn the privilege, students would meet specific criteria proposed by the students (Be on time, Positive Behavior, and Passing all classes). The presentation was received well by the administrators. The students gave an outstanding presentation. The proposed implementation timeframe is 2nd semester.
UNIFORM DRESS CODE for 2009-10
The Cheyenne-Eagle Butte Cooperative School Board has passed a policy to have a uniform dress code. The Uniform Dress Code is in effect for the Kindergarten and Junior High (7th & 8th grade) beginning in the 2009-2010 school year.
The Kindergarten and Junior High students may wear any combination of black, white, khaki (tan) color slacks (girls: slacks, skirts, skorts, capris) that fit properly (not oversized). The students may wear any combination of black, khaki, or white polo or turtle neck plain shirts which fit properly. Appropriate length, fitting, and color (khaki/white/black) shorts may be worn during hot weather. Footwear must be all one color; either white, black, or brown/tan.
Staff for the Kindergarten and Junior High will also wear appropriate matching attire.
